Part 1 Workshop Details:
Course Content
The workshop covers the use of audio-sonic & percussion vibrators, electrical muscle stimulators and infra-red radiation. The objectives are to increase flexibility & mobility, muscle strength & tone, restore function, reduce oedema and accelerate healing.
Areas covered include the shoulders, limbs, neck and back.

Entry Requirements
The workshop is suitable for those employed in sports therapy and massage or for holistic therapists with an interest in this field.
Qualification Attained
This workshop is not accredited, however a Manchester School of Massage certificate of attendance is provided.
Further Information
Part 1 & 2 combined covers the syllabus of the VTCT Diploma in Management of Activity Injuries, in conjunction with a home study period and a final assessment day. The home study period will include assignments and case studies. The final assessment will include a practical session and a written paper.
Course times are from 10.30 am to 5.00 pm.
The venue is at the Manchester School of Massage in South Manchester.
Part 2 Diploma Details:
Course Content
Part 2 reviews the content of part 1 and also covers the use of cryotherapy, heat pads and paraffin wax to increase flexibility & mobility, muscle strength & tone, restore function, reduce oedema and accelerate healing. Areas covered include the shoulders, limbs, neck and back.

Entry Requirements
Attendance on Part 1 is required to take Part 2. VTCT health and safety modules M2/M74 orVR2/VR74 must have been completed within the last three years, otherwise this must be met by simultaneous home study. An anatomy & physiology diploma must have been completed, otherwise this must be met by simultaneous home study. If prior qualifications include anatomy & physiology but do not cover all body systems, it may be necessary to complete these systems by simultaneous home study.
Examination System
Continuous assessment by means of written homework, assignments and home practice. Home study and practice is over a minimum period of three months following the school attendance days. A final assessment date is arranged after the home study period. Please note that a fee of £76.00 is payable for the VTCT assessment and verification which includes lifetime registration and Health & Safety modules. If you are already registered with VTCT this fee may be reduced by up to £30.00.
Qualification Attained
VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Management of Activity Injuries.
