Anatomy & Physiology, Effleurage, Friction,  Kneading,  Wringing,  Hacking,  Cupping,  Tapotement, Physiological Benefits, Psychological Benefits, Contra-Indications, Posture & Stance, Setting Up In Business, Professionalism, Patient Care, Salon Layout, Record Keeping, Aftercare Advice, Full Body Intuitive Massage. All aspects of massage are covered, backed up throughout by written material.

Entry Requirements
No previous experience is necessary. Attendance at an introductory weekend prior to the course would be beneficial.

Examination System
Continuous assessment by means of written homework, assignments and home practice. Home study and practice is over a minimum period of three months following the school attendance days. A final assessment date is arranged after the home study period. Please note that a fee of £76.00 is payable for the VTCT assessment and verification which includes lifetime registration and Health & Safety modules. If you are already registered with VTCT this fee may be reduced by up to £30.00.

Qualification Attained
VTCT offer certificate courses through the International Institute of Health and Holistic Therapies. The qualification attained is a Level 3 Swedish Massage Certificate.

Professional Insurance
Membership is available to the Federation of Holistic Therapists which offers insurance and other benefits for therapists in the UK. You may also join other organisations such as the Independent Professional Therapists International. Employment is available in clinics, spas, beauty salons and part-time freelance, working from home. The Manchester Therapy Centre has part-time work available on an ongoing basis for therapists in the Manchester area.

Further Information
The massage certificate course is mainly ‘hands on’ pairing up to give and receive a massage. Course times are from 10.30 am to about 5.30 pm depending on the group size.
You will learn how to massage professionally as well as the background knowledge necessary to be able to deal with clients and setup in business. The massage certificate qualification is recognised in many countries outside the UK and gives a good grounding for further qualifications in holistic therapies. The venue is at the Manchester School of Massage in South Manchester. The group size is kept below ten for individual attention. Please book early to ensure a place on a particular course.
